Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient coding for healthcare services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality and timely coded clinical data, following national clinical coding rules and conventions.
  • Work with clinical teams and other relevant personnel to ensure coding accuracy and integrity.
  • Mentor and/or support other clinical coding team members.
  • Adhere to ICD-10 and OPCS rules and conventions, updating references manuals and classifications as necessary.
  • Input coded information into the hospital PAS computer system, prioritizing accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
  • Understand the impact of coded data on business aspects of the Trust and communicate complexities to clinical colleagues.
  • Organize and prioritize workload, being flexible to assist colleagues in other specialties.
  • Liaise regularly with Divisional staff and stakeholders to ensure high-quality coded clinical data.
