About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Excelcare Holdings. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chef in preparing and cooking nutritious, healthy meals using fresh ingredients
  • Work to scheduled meal plans, paying attention to individual dietary requirements and preferences
  • Maintain excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Support at mealtimes with the dining experience, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our residents
  • Check kitchen equipment and report any concerns or faults to the Chef
  • Understand and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, particularly in respect of Basic Food Hygiene, COSHH, safe moving and handling, and cross-infection
Requirements
  • Experience of cooking for large numbers
  • A passion for preparing and assisting with cooking of fresh, tasty, homemade food
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in catering and hospitality
  • 2 years' experience in a catering environment
  • 12 months experience in managing a kitchen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents
