Key Responsibilities- Assist the Chef in preparing and cooking nutritious, healthy meals using fresh ingredients
- Work to scheduled meal plans, paying attention to individual dietary requirements and preferences
- Maintain excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
- Support at mealtimes with the dining experience, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our residents
- Check kitchen equipment and report any concerns or faults to the Chef
- Understand and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, particularly in respect of Basic Food Hygiene, COSHH, safe moving and handling, and cross-infection
- Experience of cooking for large numbers
- A passion for preparing and assisting with cooking of fresh, tasty, homemade food
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in catering and hospitality
- 2 years' experience in a catering environment
- 12 months experience in managing a kitchen
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents
- Competitive hourly rate
- Part-time hours, with the opportunity to work alternate weekends
