About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Transport Operations Supervisor to join our Stansted Depot team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our transport function, ensuring that our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, and that our drivers are managed effectively to meet our business objectives.
Main Responsibilities:- Assist our logistics management team in the efficient operation of the transport function
- Ensure that the trunking operation runs smoothly and efficiently throughout the evening
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with regulatory requirements
- Assist drivers with tasks in the Transport Yard when required
- Assist with boxing vehicles for deliveries
- Ensure drivers are managed correctly to work within driver's hours and working time regulations, using our recognized processes to manage full compliance
- Investigate any incidents, accidents, and near misses when required
- Assist the training team with the addition of new drivers to the transport department
- Support the logistics manager and training team with the recruitment of new drivers
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays

We're looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in transport operations. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 1 year's team leader/management experience within a transport or logistics office
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Strong knowledge of driver hours and working time regulations
- Strong knowledge of driver compliance
- IOSH certificate and first aid certificate
- LGVC licence and CPC card

However, a criminal record will not necessarily disqualify a candidate. Each case will be assessed individually, taking into account the nature of the offence and its relevance to the role applied for.
