Men's Outreach Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Men's Outreach Support Worker to join our team at Housing for Women. As a key member of our organization, you will provide high-quality support to male victims and survivors of domestic abuse in the community, ensuring they have access to a range of interventions and support measures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide trauma-informed support to male survivors of domestic abuse, developing individual support plans and facilitating sessions that promote understanding of domestic violence, life skills, and healthy lifestyles.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and provide effective advice and advocacy, ensuring that support is culturally and religiously sensitive and tailored to the specific needs of each service user.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support service delivery, participating in training and performance management processes.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection policies.
- Engage with service users to gather feedback and develop strategies for continuous service improvement.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience working with vulnerable male adults from diverse backgrounds in a community or floating support basis.
- Experience supporting male survivors of DVA.
- Experience undertaking individual assessments, including risk assessments and developing and delivering support plans.
- Knowledge of the impact that DVA has on service users and their children.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Children's Act, Community Care Act, Domestic Violence Legislation, Housing Act, MARAC protocol, etc.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, safeguarding children and adults, child protection, and social and voluntary services approaches and involvement.
- Strong crisis management skills.
- Education to NVQ 3, A level standard, or equivalent.
