Job Summary:
The Deputy Head of Year will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and academic success of students by working closely with staff, students, and parents. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic performance using SIMS.
- Communicate with parents to address concerns and update them on their child's progress.
- Supervise and engage with students to maintain a positive school environment.
- Provide one cover lesson per week.
- Support the Head of Year in overseeing the pastoral care of two year groups.
- Organise and participate in year group assemblies, events, and activities.
- Work closely with teaching staff to support students' personal, social, and academic development.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar pastoral or student support role.
- Proficiency in using SIMS for student data tracking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to supervise and engage with students, maintaining a positive learning environment.
- A commitment to promoting student welfare and safeguarding.
