Position Overview

We are excited to announce openings for Band 5 Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners within the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) at our esteemed healthcare facility.

This unit is integral to our critical care services, dedicated to delivering exceptional post-anaesthetic and surgical care across 11 specialized theatres. Our patient demographic includes both adults and children, and we also initiate an acute pain management service. We are in search of a driven and diligent individual(s) to become part of our dedicated team. Experience in surgical nursing is preferred, along with prior exposure to PACU or critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities

Uphold a high standard of patient-centered care in alignment with the policies and procedures of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Ensure a safe and hygienic working environment. Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, maintaining accurate written documentation. Engage with patients and their families to guarantee they receive pertinent information. Foster and maintain positive relationships among all staff involved in patient care. Adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct. Perform duties across various wards/departments as required by service demands. Exhibit personal accountability for compliance with infection control policies and procedures. Education and Training
