Role Overview

As a Content Partnerships Editor, you will oversee the quality, impact, and efficiency of our content collaborations, focusing on sectors such as Lifestyle, Travel, or Sport. Collaborating closely with a Commercial Editor, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the success of these partnerships by working with Brand Partnerships Leads to secure pitches, deliver top-notch content, and achieve meaningful results for clients, including driving subscriptions and managing editorial budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • In partnership with a Commercial Editor, actively engage with clients to develop high-quality concepts that yield significant results and content that drives subscriptions. You will confidently make informed decisions and discuss these with a Commercial Editor before commissioning content that meets our standards.
  • Oversee your digital content, ensuring all relevant team members are well-informed. With input from a Commercial Editor, ensure that every aspect meets the brief and is of the highest quality before final approval.
  • Guarantee that all content produced under your direction adheres to the brief, meets first-class standards, aligns with Telegraph's style, and is delivered on time.
  • Edit content to exceptional standards prior to the sub-editing phase.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to ensure that your partnerships operate as efficiently and proactively as possible. Together with a Commercial Editor and relevant sales colleagues, ensure that every pitch and campaign is thoroughly planned and optimized.
  • Manage campaigns across various sectors.
  • Source and negotiate talent for campaigns, ensuring the selection of the most relevant individuals at competitive rates.
  • Strive to become a leading expert in processes, client communications, compliance/legal matters, SEO optimization, and the use of relevant technology.
  • Work alongside sales colleagues to generate proactive sales ideas and refine pitch presentations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated editorial, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player who is self-motivated and proactive in suggesting improvements, solving problems, and consistently aiming for the highest quality content and results.
  • A well-established network of freelance writers.
  • Some experience in client relations and a foundational understanding of industry insights (both commercial and editorial).
  • Experience in generating proactive content ideas, commissioning, editing, and contributing to successful projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
