Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Sales to lead our Emerging & Scaled business unit. This team is dedicated to providing advertising solutions to mid-sized and small enterprises, enabling them to connect with their target audience and fulfill their marketing objectives on the Spotify platform.

As the Head of Sales for the Emerging & Scaled division, you will be instrumental in enhancing our footprint throughout the UK. You will oversee a team of UK Sales Representatives, collaborating closely with them to stimulate growth, cultivate client relationships, and achieve outstanding outcomes. Reporting directly to the leadership of the Emerging & Scaled division, you will be tasked with devising and executing a strategic market entry plan that caters to the specific requirements of our clients in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Growth Strategy: Assume responsibility for the growth strategy of the Emerging & Scaled business, remaining aware of regional trends and effectively sharing these insights with your team.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and manage a team of Sales Representatives, offering coaching, development, and establishing revenue targets and essential metrics to ensure team success.
  • Client and Agency Engagement: Establish and maintain robust relationships with key clients and agency partners, acting as the primary contact and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • KPI-Driven Initiatives: Formulate and execute measurement strategies based on key performance indicators to drive success and illustrate the value of our advertising solutions.
  • Market Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, translating them into strategic opportunities for business growth.
  • Quota and Account Management: Set individual quotas and account assignments for your team members in collaboration with sales operations, optimizing resource distribution.
  • Strategic Analysis: Generate strategic insights, identify opportunities, and provide structured performance reporting within your market or sector.
  • Market Entry Strategy: Define and implement the market entry strategy, representing Spotify's interests in the Emerging & Scaled sector.
  • Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of Spotify's advertising products and innovations, identifying cross-selling opportunities that align with client business objectives.
  • Market Research: Conduct independent market research to identify, prioritize, and secure business opportunities based on the dynamics and strategies specific to Emerging & Scaled clients.
  • Reporting and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage reporting and oversee cross-functional partnerships for your region, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Promote a culture of knowledge sharing, disseminating best practices and exemplary work across the team and the broader organization.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the digital media industry in the UK, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discussions with multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Established strong relationships with marketers and clients across the UK.
  • Alignment with Spotify's values and a passion for Spotify's products and marketing.
  • Strong existing connections with top marketing decision-makers.
  • Extensive knowledge of performance marketing, including industry trends, measurement, attribution, and competitive product insights.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust with C-level clients by understanding their business needs.
  • Deep understanding of digital advertising purchasing and ad technology platforms.
  • Proficiency in recruitment, team development, and mentorship.

Work Environment

  • This role involves some in-person meetings while allowing for flexibility to work remotely. A presence in the London office is expected three times a week.
