In the role of Fleet Supervisor, you will take charge of managing the daily fleet activities at our operational site.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating a team of vehicle detailers and outsourced personnel, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet daily operational requirements. As the onsite leader, your primary focus will be on the health and safety of your team while upholding safety protocols for fleet operations.
You will report directly to the Fleet Planning Manager and work collaboratively with other management personnel to ensure compliance with all fleet regulations, reduce vehicle downtime, and assist the organization in achieving its utilization goals.
Your duties will also encompass managing the fleet telematics system to guarantee that all vehicles are equipped with functional hardware and addressing any technical issues swiftly. Additionally, you will oversee the preparation of vehicles for customer collection, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Oversight
- Manage the daily functions of the Fleet team.
- Ensure adherence to company protocols regarding vehicle readiness and safety.
- Uphold safety standards for team members and drivers.
- Plan and execute daily operations efficiently.
- Address operational challenges and liaise with other departments.
- Maintain vendor and service provider relationships.
- Ensure that vehicle licenses and inspections are current.
- Monitor vehicle telematics and reporting systems.
- Keep accurate vehicle records in management systems.
- Oversee the procurement of supplies and equipment for fleet operations.
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of detailers and vehicle coordinators.
- Distribute resources effectively within the team.
- Evaluate staff performance against established targets.
- Support recruitment and performance review processes.
Candidate Profile:
Ideal Qualifications
- Previous experience in fleet management.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with electric fleet operations is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual Salary: £35,000.
- Performance-based bonus potential (up to 10% of salary).
- Participation in a statutory pension scheme.
- 20 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
