We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded Business Development Manager to join our team at TVS Supply Chain Solutions UK & Europe. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for growing profit for the business, obtaining new business opportunities, and selling our class-leading supply chain capabilities to the Defence sector.
Main Responsibilities- Build and Maintain Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within Defence Prime contractors to promote our high-quality service.
- Develop Business Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy targeting Primes, to drive revenue growth for the company.
- Company Knowledge: Build company knowledge to understand and propose solutions to clients.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Business Solutions and Implementation team on Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Proposal Coordination: Coordinate and present proposals to prospective clients and lead the full sales process.
- Customer Onboarding: Collaborate with the implementation and operational teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new customers.
- Marketing Support: Work closely with the marketing team to create campaigns to generate leads and increase brand awareness.
- Market Analysis: Perform market analyses, seeking out trends and reviewing customer needs, to identify new opportunities and drive business growth.
- Reporting: Accurately record sales activities and customer interactions to the CRM system.
- Regular Reporting: Provide regular and detailed reporting to Directors.
- Industry Events: Attend social and networking events to build the company presence and stay up to date on industry trends.
- Prior Experience: Prior experience in Defence Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- Solution Design: Prior experience in a Solution Design function or similar.
- Customer Facing: Experience of facilitating customer-facing workshops.
- Communication: Clear and confident communicator and strong language skills with the ability to explain scenarios in a way that is easily understood by users of all levels.
- Time Management: Ability to establish and meet deadlines and commitments in a high-pressure environment – working closely with wider-business SMEs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, be confident in presenting to new clients, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external parties.
- Strategic Thinking: Be strategic, forward thinking, able to negotiate and converse confidently at any level.
