Senior Java Developer SQL

At Rightmove, we're looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with expertise in SQL to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing features and improvements to our applications using Java, Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Gradle, Hibernate, Couchbase, and SQL.
  • Taking ownership of key technical decisions and project delivery, ensuring delivery quality, including meeting security standards and providing for future extensibility of the codebase.
  • Coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers to help them develop their technical skills.
  • Leading technically complex projects, assigning work to multiple engineers, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Contributing to strong TDD practices and debating the pros and cons of left-shifting in the pipeline.
  • Monitoring the performance of live applications and understanding how our users interact with them.
