Job Title: Senior Product Test Development Engineer

Raytheon UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Test Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, and validation of board-level, sub-system, and system-level test equipment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop functional test equipment
  • Lead and guide junior engineers in the design and quality of test equipment
  • Document design specifications and implementation details
  • Participate in design reviews and uphold design standards and methodologies
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to agree on system designs, interfaces, and protocols
  • Develop test hardware, test software, and procedures to prove the correct operation of hardware
  • Provide support to manufacturing and resolve technical issues
  • Manage obsolescence throughout the lifecycle of test hardware
  • Monitor and report progress to immediate supervisors and development teams
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering or related subject
  • Test software design experience
  • Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
  • Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Able to support and debug system integration
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products
  • Good communication skills
  • Eligibility for MOD Security Clearance to a minimum of SC level
Desirable:
  • Significant test development experience in industry
  • Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools
  • Understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI
  • Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
  • Software Certification or detailed knowledge of NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#
