Maintenance Engineer

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client's food manufacturing site in Thetford. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary up to £47,897K depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Minimise downtime and maximise efficiency by performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting PLC systems.
  • Complete electrical installations and participate in project work.
  • Operate to a high degree of Health & Safety and good housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure lock off procedures are followed at all times to ensure the safety of self and others on site.
  • Carry out small projects and modifications as required within any projects.
  • Develop, create, and implement maintenance SOPs.
  • Perform PPM inspections and maintenance, and carry out corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis.
  • Carry out general maintenance as required, including lubrication tasks and schedules.

The successful candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience in manufacturing environments, competency in PLCs, and an aptitude for fault diagnosis. They will possess recognised engineering qualifications, such as City and Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical disciplines, and be able to work independently, taking full responsibility for their tasks and actions.

This is a full-time position with a 4 on 4 off shift schedule, including nights. Benefits include 23 days of annual holiday, free on-site parking, a quarterly attendance bonus of £200, and life insurance.
