Position Overview

Lead Identity Solutions Engineer at Checkout

As a Lead Identity Solutions Engineer specializing in Identity and Access Management (IAM) with a focus on OKTA, you will take charge of the design, implementation, and upkeep of our IAM frameworks to support our internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include crafting secure and efficient authentication and authorization mechanisms, managing the OKTA ecosystem, and ensuring smooth integration with various applications and systems. You will play a pivotal role in protecting our organization’s digital resources and enhancing user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Implementation:
  • Architect and deploy comprehensive IAM solutions utilizing OKTA, ensuring alignment with business and security standards.
  • Develop and enforce IAM policies, procedures, and standards to uphold system integrity.
  • Lead initiatives to continuously enhance the maturity, user experience, and capabilities of our OKTA implementation based on business requirements and stakeholder feedback.
Administration and Support:
  • Oversee user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access management within the OKTA framework.
  • Address IAM-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
  • Conduct regular system audits and generate compliance documentation.
  • Design and support regular campaigns to recertify user access.
  • Provide escalation support for end users.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for both internal technology teams and clients.
Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure IAM solutions comply with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct security assessments and implement necessary enhancements to fortify system security.
  • Collaborate with security teams to address incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Partner with IT, security, and application teams to address and fulfill their IAM needs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support staff.
  • Lead and contribute to IAM-related projects, ensuring successful and timely execution.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed on IAM and OKTA trends and technologies, proposing enhancements for process improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to maintain expertise in IAM.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is advantageous.
Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing IAM solutions in complex environments.
  • Experience with the OKTA platform is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of IAM concepts and best practices related to SSO, MFA, Lifecycle Management, Identity Governance, and PAM.
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Typescript for automation and integration.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST/FedRamp, SOX, SOC, ISO, SOC2, PCI, ZeroTrust, SaaS Security Framework, Data Security Foundations, etc.
  • Practical experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.) to manage containerized applications, serverless code, and databases.
Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritizing workload effectively.
  • Fluency in English.
Preferred Certifications:
  • OKTA Certified Professional or Administrator.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM).
  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty or equivalent.
