Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a seasoned structural design engineer to enhance our dynamic offshore wind design team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality project designs, with a strong emphasis on the structural integrity of offshore wind foundations. A deep understanding of client objectives will be essential for your success. Our UK-based competence center for offshore wind engineering collaborates on projects across various regions, including Europe, APAC, and the US, working closely with leading industry developers.

You will have the opportunity to refine existing processes and innovate new methodologies for efficient design, including automation and digitalization. This position requires a solid foundation in sequentially coupled load analysis for offshore wind sub-structure design, alongside the ability to critically evaluate and enhance current practices. While the primary focus is on technical excellence, you will also have avenues to expand your skills in project management, training, bid management, and service innovation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the offshore wind sector, particularly in delivering FEED and detailed designs for offshore wind turbine sub-structures, focusing on primary or secondary steel design.
  • In-depth knowledge of offshore wind design standards and the ability to effectively communicate design strategies with clients and certification bodies.
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, dynamics, and hydrodynamics.
  • A collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in one or more offshore structural analysis software packages; coding skills (e.g., Python) are advantageous.
