About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at Talent Finder. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in retaining current customers and developing new business opportunities in the drainage and utility services industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to sales leads and convert customer enquiries into technical specifications and quotations
  • Compose quote documents and customer proposals, and log and chase sales quotations and orders in line with company procedures
  • Manage sales from concept to completion to ensure customer satisfaction, and provide technical support in person, by email, and phone
  • Actively seek new customers and research their needs to resolve problems, and visit customers and potential customers to develop relationships and follow up on leads
  • Achieve key metrics and provide technical information to customers and distributors, and make product recommendations to customers and distributors
  • Follow-up on voicemail and email requests from management, peers, and customers, and maintain an understanding of industry trends and technical developments
  • Provide weekly sales forecast updates to the Sales Director and participate in scheduled sales meetings
Requirements
  • Proven track record in a successful B2B sales environment, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or electrics
  • Hands-on, methodical approach to problem-solving, and understanding of electrical systems, mechanical, and pipework installations
  • Professional demeanor and attitude, outgoing and friendly, and organised, focused, and sales-driven
  • Excellent telephone manner and comfortable using the phone as a proactive sales tool, and willingness to learn about and understand our products
  • Ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach, and ability to travel to customer sites
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to maintain relationships with customers and colleagues, and initiative to seek out opportunities to improve products, processes, and services
  • Decision-making and evaluation skills to determine customer needs, and credibility and reliability to meet commitments and deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and prior use of a CRM tool, and competent business administration skills
  • Educated to a high standard, trustworthy, honest, and have integrity
  • Experience in the Mechanical/Electrical Pumping industry or related service industry preferred
