About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Empro Consultants. As an EHS Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety Management Systems across our sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement EHS Management Systems: Design, implement, and maintain EHS Management Systems that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure Compliance with EHS Legislation: Ensure that all sites comply with relevant EHS legislation, including DSEAR and COSHH, and maintain accurate records of compliance.
  • Foster a Proactive HSE Culture: Promote a culture of safety and health within the organization, encouraging employees to report incidents and near-misses.
  • Conduct EHS Risk Assessments and Audits: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Support and Mentor Managers on HSE Management: Provide guidance and support to site managers on EHS management, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to manage EHS risks.
  • Investigate Incidents and Recommend Improvements: Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Review and Update EHS Policies and Procedures: Review and update EHS policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Regular Inspections and Communicate Findings: Conduct regular inspections of sites to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and communicate findings to site managers and employees.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health Providers: Liaise with occupational health providers to ensure that employees receive necessary medical attention and support.
  • Lead Compliance Training and Programs: Develop and deliver compliance training programs to ensure that employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing Environment: Proven experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of EHS risks and controls.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety: Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent Working Knowledge of HSE Legislation and Guidance: Have a strong working knowledge of HSE legislation and guidance, including DSEAR and COSHH.
  • Knowledge of ATEX Environments and DSEAR Requirements: Have knowledge of ATEX environments and DSEAR requirements, with experience working in these environments.
  • Strong Organizational and Communication Skills: Possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with site managers and employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Be proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to create and maintain accurate records and reports.
