About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineering Manager to join our Data Science team at LV= General Insurance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of cloud-based Data Science products that drive commercial value and financial benefit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of AI products that add real value to the business, including real-time Machine Learning models and Generative AI solutions.
  • Ensure the efficient delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality Data Science products that support and enhance our Data Engineering and MLOps processes.
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of Data Engineers (from graduate to senior levels).
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to design, build, and enhance scalable processes and workflows.
  • Actively champion Data Science across all areas and levels of the business.
  • Maintain standards around the use and access to data, ensuring adherence to internal and external regulatory factors, standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience as a manager in a data role, with expertise in MLOps.
  • Proficient in programming with Python and SQL.
  • In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle, DevOps, and MLOps methodologies to ensure continuous integration, testing, and deployment of data and model pipelines.
  • The ability to effectively lead an agile team to deliver Data Science products and connect with technical and senior stakeholders from across the business.
  • Familiarity with data protection, consumer duty, and other relevant legislation.
