Operations Transport Manager

We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team at Search. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the transportation process, supporting drivers, and coordinating operations within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Regional Operations Transport Manager to ensure a positive relationship with clients and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver the yearly SHEQ plan and ensure its progress and effectiveness are robustly managed.
  • Maintain positive Industrial Relations across all contracts and ensure all location colleagues are engaged and aware of the wider business goals.
  • Take ownership of Operational Profit and Loss accounts at their location.
  • Control all cost lines/drivers to ensure all controllable costs are managed.
  • Coach, manage, and motivate the team to reach their full potential.
  • Ensure all processes are appropriate and implemented to manage safety, customer service, regulatory compliance, industrial relations, resource provision, resource utilisation, and other key efficiency parameters.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met, including operator's licence, drivers hours/WTD regulations.
  • Maintain an awareness of long-term customer forecasts and ensure sufficient resources are in place to meet customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience of leading large single-site operational teams to ensure a safety-first culture is embedded.
  • Delivering excellence and managing constructive relationships with SMEs and larger blue-chip clients.
  • Full detailed ownership and experience of managing operational P&Ls.
  • Ideal experience of working with Trade Unions at local levels.
