Job Title: Adviser (Policy)

The Contract Management Specialist will be responsible for the deployment of Contract Management activities for the London hub, covering a new pipeline project.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation, service contracts, and associated confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and restrictive use agreements; partnership/consortium/joint venture/alliance agreements, subcontract agreements.
  2. Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management and Procurement functions, collecting inputs from other functions, including Insurance, Tax and Finance.
  3. Prepare Contract Summaries on a tender/project-specific basis.
  4. Advise Company and Corporate Management on main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions.
  5. Participate in meetings with internal clients, external clients, partners, and subcontractors, negotiating, taking notes, and preparing summaries and/or Minutes of Meeting.
  6. Negotiate contractual instruments with counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies.
  7. Support Project Management teams in determining claims and contract management strategies, preparing and evaluating variation order requests, and drafting key project correspondence towards clients, major subcontractors, and/or other interfacing third parties.
  8. Support Procurement function in reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  9. Draft all related legal instruments and correspondence.
  10. Perform legal research, e.g., case law affecting Company market space.
  11. Have knowledge of industry-standard contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, IOCs, etc.).
  12. Assist in resolving legal and contractual matters, in coordination with relevant corporate functions.
  13. Regularly report to the Company and Corporate Management on Contract Management activities.
Essential Skills:
  1. Knowledge and experience of English Law.
  2. Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administering project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential.
  3. Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening, and influencing.
  5. Strong commercial awareness.
  6. Ability to work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
  7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  8. Leadership skills.
  9. Team player attitude.
  10. International mobility both for short missions and potentially for long-term assignments.
