We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Admiral Group Plc. As a key member of our accounting and reporting team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering timely and accurate month-end reporting, regulatory reporting, and statutory accounts.
Main Responsibilities- Month-End Reporting: Ownership of the month-end accounts for the UK Intermediary business, including liaison with other finance teams and Group Finance to work through any queries on consolidation.
- Statutory Accounts Preparation: Supporting the preparation and review of statutory accounts.
- Regulatory Reporting: Supporting the preparation and review of various regulatory and tax returns.
- Accounting Processes: Review of work and journals prepared by accountants in the team, developing existing control and accounting processes, and driving improvements.
- Leadership and Development: Line management responsibility, day-to-day leading, developing, and coaching a team of accountants/trainees.
- Support and Ad-Hoc Tasks: Providing general support and completing ad-hoc tasks as required by the Finance Manager and Financial Controller.
- Qualifications: Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years post-qualification experience in a Financial Accounting role.
- Skills: Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and plan, and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Experience: Understanding or experience working in the finance team of an insurance intermediary business, line management experience.
We offer a hybrid working arrangement with a requirement to attend our Cardiff office once per week. We provide a competitive salary and benefits package, including 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) that increases with length of service, up to a maximum of 38 days (including bank holidays). We also offer flexible hours and the option to buy or sell up to five days of annual leave in addition to your allocation.
