Aspire Training Team is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Early Years Educator Apprenticeship program. This comprehensive 20-week course will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in a childcare setting.

Course Requirements:

  • Reliable access to the internet, a laptop or computer with microphone and camera functionality are essential for this program.
  • You must be able to travel to/from a local Early Years setting and one of three designated locations for First Aid training.

Apprenticeship Pathway:

Upon successful completion of the 8-week course, you will transition into an accelerated Apprenticeship program at Jack and Jill's Childcare Plympton. This final stage will span 12 months, providing invaluable hands-on experience in a thriving childcare environment.

About Jack & Jill's Plympton:

Jack & Jill's Plympton is a welcoming and nurturing setting for children aged from birth to under eight years. We offer wraparound care, including safe walking routes to and from Chaddlewood Primary and Glen Park Primary schools. Our spacious playroom, dedicated baby room, and secure garden provide ample opportunities for learning through play.

Your Responsibilities as an Apprentice:

  • Develop engaging activities that foster children's growth and development.
  • Provide intimate care, ensuring the well-being of each child in your care.
  • Supervise mealtimes, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Establish strong relationships with assigned children as their key person or buddy pair.
  • Implement learning through play strategies that encourage exploration and discovery.
  • Maintain comprehensive family journals, documenting children's progress and achievements.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, sharing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Conduct regular observations to assess children's development and tailor activities accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Working Hours:

You will be required to work 25 hours per week. Shift patterns will be determined in collaboration with the setting's operating hours of 08:00-18:00, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • Obtain a clear DBS check.
  • Hold GCSEs A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent qualifications such as Functional Skills.
