Job Title: Experienced SEND Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND teacher to join our team for a September start. As a fully qualified teacher with SEND experience, you will have a proven track record of success in teaching students with special educational needs and disabilities.

About the Role

You will have the chance to develop and implement personalised education plans, create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and employ various teaching strategies and interventions tailored to students with a range of needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans to cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
  • Employ various teaching strategies and interventions tailored to students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language Difficulties, Dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Monitor student progress, assess their needs, and provide detailed reports to parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, other educators, and external specialists to provide holistic support to students.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and strategies for supporting learning at home.
  • Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in SEND education through continuous professional development.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in teaching students with special educational needs and disabilities, with a track record of success in various SEND settings.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS) and a specialisation or significant experience in SEND.
  • A deep commitment to improving the learning journeys of students with special needs, showing warmth, care, and patience in all interactions.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs and to innovate in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Strong skills in communicating effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures, with all candidates subject to an enhanced DBS check.
