We are looking for an experienced director of building surveying to lead our team in London & South East.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of building surveyors covering all aspects of professional and project-related building surveying across the private and public sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
- Assist in the management of client and project teams to deliver building surveying services profitably and on time to a wide range of clients.
- Cover the full spectrum of building surveying services, including design and specification, clerk of works, contract administration, building surveys, and dilapidations.
Requirements
- BSc in Building Surveying
- A minimum of 15 years' technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy
- IT skills (AutoCAD, NBS, MS Project Outlook, Word, Excel & other bespoke)
- Knowledge of local and national marketplace
- Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills
- A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
About the Role
As a director of building surveying, your core duties will involve leading, managing, and mentoring an expanding team of building surveyors across the London & South East region.
Manage and support the team engaged on existing commissions, develop and improve the performance of the team, formulate and implement a local growth plan in consultation with senior directors, manage the recruitment, supervision, and development of staff within the allotted teams, and liaise with line managers.
Implement and monitor relevant administration systems, as well as standards for customer care, manage the administration of the teams, ensuring that facilities and working practices follow company guidelines, undertake responsibility for compliance with the company's health and safety policy and other relevant policies.
