Job Summary

The Senior Surveyor position at Oceaneering is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise and experience in surveying and positioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and carrying out survey projects, ensuring that client needs are effectively met, and that all tasks are performed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist new and fellow employees in performing their work in accordance with safe work procedures
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, crew members, and project managers
  • Conduct and document daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Safety pre-tower meetings
  • Responsible for offshore operations, including personnel, daily progress, and asset utilization
  • Train and adhere to OII, DOTD, or client company-specific requirements
  • Manage and carry out specific job tasks as requested by client or project manager
  • Comply with company safety rules and training, conduct operations safely, and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately to their supervisor
  • Responsible for the care and safety of company equipment
  • Train fellow field personnel
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a Surveyor II level in the Marine Construction/Survey & Positioning Survey field
  • Proficient with a variety of field concepts, practices, procedures, and equipment operations, such as GPS, Navigation Software, USBL, and scanning sonar
  • Valid driver's license and suitable driving record that meets company driver requirements
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, major survey equipment manufacturer's software, and equipment
Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFSHORE, which involves working outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water. The job requires working on or near moving and vibrating equipment, with frequent exposure to high humidity, noise, and intense light. The position also involves potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks and constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

Physical Activity/Requirements

This position is considered HEAVY work, requiring the ability to perform physical tasks that involve standing, walking, and lifting. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
