Job Description

Role Overview

Wiggin's intellectual property team is seeking an experienced Trade Mark Formalities Paralegal to join its London office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file trade mark and design applications, renewals, and recordals with EU, Benelux, UK, overseas, and IR trade mark and design offices.
  • Coordinate with local counsel for filing overseas trade mark applications and renewals.
  • Manage deadlines and diaries for trade mark and design applications.
  • Process and file correspondence and forms at the EUIPO, BOIP, WIPO, and UKIPO.
  • Check, process, and report incoming post and EUIPO e-communications to the team.
  • Update trade mark portfolio management databases (WebTMS).
  • Provide standard prosecution reports to clients and liaise with clients on formalities matters.
  • Assist with preparation of fee estimates for filing programs.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in trade mark administration.
  • Familiarity with EUIPO, UKIPO, BOIP, and WIPO online registries.
  • Good working knowledge of trade mark and design portfolio management databases.
  • Fluency in English; French and/or Dutch language skills desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Wiggin's intellectual property team is a market leader in the UK and Belgium, providing a one-stop-shop 360° IP service. The team advises on the full spectrum of legal issues connected to all IP rights, with a fast-growing integrated trade mark and design portfolio practice, busy litigation practice, and significant commercial work.

The team advises household names on all aspects of trade mark and brand protection across the entire brand life-cycle, including strategic trade mark advice, enabling clients to generate, preserve, exploit, enforce, and defend their brands in an international context.

The team is Gold tier in the UK by World Trade Mark Review and Silver in Brussels, with a goal to achieve Gold in Brussels.
