Position Overview

Role: Financial Strategy Partner

Location: Head Office

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Compensation: Competitive salary with an OTE Scheme

We are seeking a Financial Strategy Partner to enhance our Used Vehicle and Aftermarket Services Division, ensuring the precision of financial reporting and fostering improved financial outcomes. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and collaborating closely with the executive team, you will play a crucial role in streamlining financial operations and promoting best practices across the divisions while supporting ongoing growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, analytical professional who excels in interpreting and disseminating financial insights to teams, ensuring robust financial governance within your divisions. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Dealership Accountant looking to advance their career. You will engage regularly with operational teams to discuss performance metrics, propose enhancements, and consistently implement company best practices.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Strategy Partner:

  • Oversee the management of working capital within the division to mitigate risks associated with holding costs and asset provisions.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and execution of financial systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance across all franchise locations.
  • Guarantee the accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks, adhering to Group Accounting Policies, UK GAAP, and regulations set forth by HMRC and other statutory authorities.
  • Manage and coordinate monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Present and provide comprehensive insights into the financial status of the franchise during best practice and relevant meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Franchise Director to pinpoint key performance improvement opportunities aimed at maximizing profitability within the division while continuously seeking cost-reduction strategies.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Proven track record of achieving and surpassing commercial financial objectives.
  • Demonstrable experience in an Automotive Accounting role.
  • Experience in managing departmental budgets, controlling expenditures, and reviewing financial statements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; capable of communicating, influencing, and collaborating effectively with large teams, peers, and management in both in-person and virtual environments.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development focus with a successful history of motivating and guiding a team.
  • Willingness to travel; our expanding group operates dealerships throughout the UK.
