Job Overview

MPI Limited is seeking a skilled Cable Bay Technician to engage in the manufacturing, testing, and repair of various cable systems, including avionics, maritime, ground, and weaponry applications. This position requires adherence to industry standards and regulations while ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and repair cables, wiring harnesses, and looms based on engineering specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with the Maintenance Approved Organisation Scheme (MAOS) and all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of work performed to support audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with production teams to achieve performance targets and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Input and manage data to meet internal and external airworthiness standards.
  • Oversee the quality of work in accordance with ISO regulations and organizational standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of cable projects, including documentation, tooling, and testing.
  • Conduct inspections of completed projects to verify compliance with design specifications.
Essential Qualifications
  • Proficient in interpreting complex electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experienced in using electrical and mechanical testing equipment for fault diagnosis.
  • Skilled in hand techniques such as crimping, soldering, and wire stripping.
  • Thorough understanding of cable manufacturing techniques and harness layouts.
  • Knowledgeable in terminations and connections.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high standards of airworthiness.
  • PTT qualified and certified.
  • Awareness of safety protocols when working with live equipment.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in repairing and modifying various components.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical hand skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex circuit diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of practical and theoretical electronics.
Intellectual and Communication Demands

The role requires problem-solving abilities and a degree of autonomy in task execution. Daily communication with team members and support areas is essential, utilizing various communication methods.

Physical Requirements
