Transport Planner/Operator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planner/Operator to join our team at Carntyne Transport Company Ltd. As a key member of our bulk transport business unit, you will play a crucial role in planning and routing drivers and vehicles, ensuring adherence to customer service levels, legislative compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Transport Planning: Manage and plan drivers and vehicles, utilizing our TMS software to optimize routes and schedules.
  2. Resource Management: Control and plan resources, including vehicles, drivers, and trailers, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers' Hours regulations.
  3. Fleet Compliance: Ensure fleet compliance is maintained at all times, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  4. Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent communication and service.
  5. Driver Administration: Ensure all driver administration and management is in line with regulations.
  6. Performance Targets: Achieve key performance targets related to fleet safety and efficiency, including utilization and costing.
Requirements:
  1. Transport Experience: Proven experience in transport planning, preferably with a large C&D fleet.
  2. IT Skills: Proficient in using Excel and transport management systems.
  3. Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of ADR regulations.
