Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to lead and develop electric machine inverter systems and hybrid vehicle application projects for one of our esteemed clients in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Manage Requirements: Create and manage requirements for inverter systems, ensuring they meet the client's needs and industry standards.
  • Drive Requirements Management: Develop and implement a requirements management toolchain to support the systems and software process workflow.
  • Manage V-Cycle Systems Engineering Activities: Oversee all V-cycle systems engineering activities, championing the systems engineering process and driving process management and improvements across the organization.
  • Support Software Development: Collaborate with the software team to develop control software for electric machine inverter systems and hybrid vehicle applications.
  • Develop Testing and Validation Plans: Support the development of testing and validation plans for inverter systems, ensuring they meet industry standards.
  • Support System Architecture Design: Utilize model-based tools (e.g. SysML) to support system architecture design.
  • Drive Functional Safety Activities: Lead ISO26262 functional safety activities for system, software, and hardware.
  • Support System Analysis Activities: Participate in system analysis activities such as FMEA, FTA, HAZOP.
  • Develop Safety-Relevant Requirements and Software: Create safety-relevant requirements and software according to automotive standards.
  • Support Plant Model Development and Test-Harness Creation: Assist in the development of plant models and test-harness creation.
  • Interfacing and Supporting Other Teams and Customers: Collaborate with other teams and customers on Controls and Software topics.
  • Customer Support for Complex Simulations: Provide customer support for complex simulations, including travel to customer test facilities.
  • Mentorship and Professional Development: Support and mentor more junior team members to facilitate their professional development.
  • Design Reviews and Engineering Changes: Participate in design reviews of software projects and product design, and manage engineering changes and maintain detailed design records.
  • Issue Tracking and Resolution: Utilize industry-standard tools (e.g. JIRA) for issue tracking and resolution.
  • Hardware Commissioning and Data Analysis: Support hardware commissioning, motor dyno testing, and data analysis tasks for fault finding.
