Position Overview

We are pleased to present an opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality mental health services. This role emphasizes the development of specialized skills in musculoskeletal (MSK) psychology, working alongside a team of experienced professionals. You will have the chance to engage in both community and acute care settings, ensuring exceptional clinical support for a diverse patient population.

While the primary focus will be on MSK psychology, there will also be opportunities to provide general psychological support. We are committed to fostering professional growth through ongoing training and development initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Function as an independent practitioner, maintaining professional and legal accountability for all aspects of your practice, including the management of patients under your care.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of psychological care for your patient caseload, which may include individuals with complex medical and psychological needs such as:
    • MSK conditions
    • Diabetes-related psychological issues
    • Chronic neuropathy
    • Chronic disease management
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Vascular challenges
    • Wound care and tissue viability
    • Support for terminally ill patients
  • Deliver care across various primary and secondary care environments, often working autonomously without immediate support from colleagues. Supervision will be primarily self-directed, supplemented by departmental meetings and peer consultations.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is preferred for this position; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcomed.
