Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Oncology Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Oncology team at University Hospitals Birmingham. The successful candidate will have relevant and recent experience in oncology and/or haematology and will be able to work throughout the trust, assessing patients wherever they are being managed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients in the Emergency Departments and Medical Assessment Units
  • Review acute oncology patients and ensure appropriate pathways of care are actioned
  • Provide advice to patients via telephone triage and assessment
  • Organise assessment or admission to the most appropriate place of care
  • Participate in the running of nurse-led HOT Clinics

Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and ongoing professional development/competence
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross-agency work environment
  • Demonstrate understanding/experience/willingness to be a practice-based supervisor/assessor
