**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join the Department of Engineering's Information and Computing Services group at the University of Cambridge.

The successful candidate will join the helpdesk and desktop support team, providing front-line IT services and support to users across the department. This is a busy and dynamic environment, with a wide range of technologies and a diverse user base.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Deliver customer-facing IT services and support, including troubleshooting PC hardware and software issues
  • Configure and deploy computer systems, using computer configuration management and deployment tools
  • Proactively investigate issues and determine fixes, using technical expertise and problem-solving skills
  • Contribute to standard procedures and support documentation, ensuring high-quality IT services
  • Work on special projects and services, contributing to IT planning and development

**Requirements**

  • Experience with delivering customer-facing IT services and support
  • Technical expertise in computer configuration management and deployment tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware and software issues
  • Proactive approach to investigating issues and determining fixes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to standard procedures and support documentation

**Desirable Skills**
