Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Linen Services Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering hospital linen to wards and departments at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary site.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver hospital linen to wards and departments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Issue staff uniforms and obtain signatures for delivered uniform stock.
  • Work with a flexible approach to provide assistance as required in the busy linen room.
  • Operate the on-site laundry facilities for the washing and drying of Trust-owned items.
  • Allocate and record signatures from staff for collected uniform.
  • Participate in the New Bank Holiday rota system to ensure a continuous service for our patients.

Person Specification
  • No formal qualifications are required, but an induction period and on-the-job training will be provided.

  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required.
  • Ability to lift weights up to 20 kgs is essential.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of people are required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day tasks is essential.
