Job Title: Charities Coordinator

The Prax Foundation is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of Roots, a UK-based charity focused on supporting girls and children in Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of existing projects, including hostels, collection boxes, food banks, and clothes collections.
  • Fundraising through auctions, events, and other initiatives.
  • Identifying new causes for the Foundation to support.
  • Work as part of the Foundation Steering Committee.
  • Regular engagement with food banks.
  • Responsible for banking and payments on Roots bank accounts.
  • Experience of planning and budgets.
About the Prax Foundation:

The Prax Foundation, Roots, was formally established as a UK charity in 2010 by the founders of the Prax Group. The charity is run on a zero-cost basis, with every dollar donated going directly to Roots. The Foundation is overseen by the Carmelite Sisters, an order of Catholic nuns, and is currently responsible for the welfare of 80 girls at two hostels in Sri Lanka.

The Prax Group is the main donor to the Foundation, and several fundraising events are organized throughout the year. The charity's first projects are based in Sri Lanka, and the name 'Roots' was inspired by the fact that the founders' roots are in Sri Lanka.
