Position Overview:

Antares is seeking a highly skilled Senior Catastrophe Modeller to join our esteemed Catastrophe Pricing & Analytics team. This pivotal role involves overseeing treaty modelling and portfolio outputs, collaborating closely with underwriters, and serving as the primary contact for modelling inquiries. Additionally, you will manage junior modellers and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine catastrophe modelling tasks efficiently.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly portfolio summaries.
  • Conduct event response analyses to assess risk.
  • Assist in the model enhancement process.
  • Provide information, analysis, or reports for various requests, including regulatory needs.
  • Engage in projects related to modelling assumptions, internal tools, processes, and risk perspectives.
  • Support Assistant and Cat Modellers in their tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, natural sciences, or engineering.
  • Hold ACII or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AIR Touchstone with expert knowledge in specific areas of catastrophe modelling.
  • Exhibit strong SQL skills, capable of writing dynamic SQL code.
  • Have coding experience (e.g., VBA, R, Python) with the ability to create new tools and refine existing processes.
  • Possess a solid understanding of various software and tools relevant to the role.
  • Show a comprehensive understanding of the general insurance landscape.
  • Have detailed knowledge of the complete workflow for all business classes underwritten by QIC Global entities.
  • Understand the role of the CPA department within the broader business framework.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrate efficiency and timeliness in task execution.
  • Be proactive in advancing departmental objectives.
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail.
  • Be a collaborative team player, effectively communicating ideas, challenges, and solutions.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have the ability to share knowledge and clarify complex modelling concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
