Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Head Greenkeeper to oversee the maintenance and management of our premier golf course facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our grounds meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the meticulous upkeep of the golf course, driving range, and surrounding areas to maintain an inviting environment.
  • Lead and inspire a team of greenkeeping staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Manage the annual maintenance budget and operational plans to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with management to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the course and ensure proper setup for events.
  • Provide regular updates on course conditions, maintenance activities, and financial expenditures.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Oversee procurement processes and liaise with suppliers for necessary materials and equipment.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained, with accurate service records.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage and workshop areas.
  • Prioritize health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Sports Turf Management.
  • Certification in pesticide application (PA1, PA2, PA6).
  • Chainsaw operation certifications (CS30, CS31).
  • Proficient in the operation and maintenance of modern greenkeeping machinery.
  • Understanding of automated irrigation systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to greenkeeping operations.
  • Strong leadership and budget management skills, with a focus on compliance and record-keeping.
