Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team at Currys, where we are dedicated to ensuring that technology is safe and reliable for our customers. We are currently seeking an Evaluation Engineer to play a pivotal role in verifying documentation and assessing a diverse array of products.

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk assessment database, evaluating the risk levels associated with various product types and suppliers, and conducting thorough product analyses.


Key Responsibilities:
As an Evaluation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting in the creation and upkeep of a risk assessment database to evaluate the risk levels for each product category and supplier rating, thereby safeguarding the business and end users.
  • Contributing to the establishment of a structured evaluation framework for each product type based on risk assessments and performance history.
  • Gaining a solid understanding of safety regulations pertinent to each product category, promptly researching requirements for new categories, and integrating these into the evaluation process.
  • Collaborating with procurement teams and manufacturers to ensure that branded evaluation and documentation checks are seamlessly integrated into the purchasing process, fostering confidence in the supply chain.
  • Monitoring both internal and external safety investigations and product recalls to ensure timely actions are taken to eliminate unsafe products from circulation.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Experience in product development, safety standards, and quality management practices.
  • A solid understanding of current and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with the procurement process to perform necessary checks without delaying time to market.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of product design methodologies, including life cycle modeling and cost management, is desirable.
