Actuarial Manager Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Manager to join our team at Mercer. As an Actuarial Manager, you will be responsible for leading complex client engagements, managing overall service delivery, and providing strategic financial evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead large client engagements, including managing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, and plan design.
  • Manage client data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy and validity.
  • Evaluate group risk and income protection benefits, making pricing recommendations and managing future costs.
  • Project cashflow scenarios, stochastic simulations, and recommend optimal capital management strategies.
  • Deliver timely client reports and presentations, summarizing findings and recommending strategies.
  • Project retiree medical costs, providing advice on experience and valuation, and managing risk management strategies.
  • Project life insurance and disability costs, providing advice on experience and valuation, and managing risk management strategies.
  • Provide general management consulting services for entities in adjacent industries.
  • Produce thought leadership material and drive business development.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Actuary with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Extensive actuarial modelling experience and ability to work with large quantities of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
