Job Title: Principal Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist to lead our inpatient psychology team in Bolton. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and delivering a high-quality psychological service to our adult inpatient services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to the inpatient psychology team and develop psychological formulations in collaboration with clinical teams.
  • Conduct complex assessments and provide short-term therapeutic interventions to patients.
  • Teach and train non-psychology staff on psychological principles and practices.
  • Supervise and line-manage junior psychology staff to ensure high-quality care and development.
  • Work with senior managers to develop psychologically informed models of care and represent the service at a senior level.

As a Principal Clinical Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and develop your skills in clinical leadership, supervision, and training.

Requirements:
  • Postgraduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology, or equivalent.
  • Completion of further post-qualification training in psychological therapies.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience of working with a wide range of client groups and presenting with complex clinical severity.
  • Experience of providing supervision and training to psychologists and other core health professions.
  • Experience of clinical leadership and heading a service, with the ability to represent the service at a senior level.
