About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Assistant to join our team at Anchor Hanover. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents, ensuring that their dietary needs are met and their experience is exceptional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality catering service that meets the health, safety, and hygiene requirements of our residents.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Minimise food wastage and use equipment correctly to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Escalate any concerns or issues to the Chef Manager or relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • Level 2 food safety certificate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH).
  • Previous catering experience with knowledge of basic food safety and safe use of knives and kitchen equipment.
  • Experience of working with older people and understanding their dietary needs.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to organise time and prioritise activities effectively.
  • Able to work in a pressured environment and maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team and individually to achieve goals.
