About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part Time PPA Teacher to join our team at a leading independent special school. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver and Assess Work: Develop and implement tailored educational programs for pupils with SEMH, ensuring their learning needs are met and progress is tracked.
  2. Collaborate with Teaching Assistants: Work closely with TAs to provide effective support to pupils, ensuring their needs are met and they receive the best possible education.
  3. Target Setting and Progress Monitoring: Contribute to the setting of targets for children, monitoring their progress and making adjustments to their educational programs as needed.
  4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside other professionals in the wider support network, including therapists, specialist nurses, and education staff, to provide comprehensive support to pupils.
  5. Parent and Carer Liaison: Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child's progress and involving them in their educational journey.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: Hold Full QTS and have a strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on children's learning.
  2. Experience: Have previous experience teaching children or young learners with SEMH, with a proven track record of delivering effective educational programs.
  3. Availability: Be available to work 3 days per week, with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the school.
  4. Clearances and References: Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
  5. CV and Right to Work: Ensure your CV covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and have the legal right to work in the UK.
