About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to join our Labour Ward team at Croydon University Hospital NHS Trust as a Band 7 Labour Ward Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking leader to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and support the development of midwifery practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • To ensure the effective management of the Labour Ward, including the coordination of staff and resources.
  • To provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • To contribute to the development of midwifery practice, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Person Specification
  • NMC Registered Midwife
  • BSc in Midwifery
  • Evidence of professional development
  • Assessor/mentorship course or equivalent ALSO/NALS/MOET course
  • Masters in Midwifery, or evidence of working towards
  • Professional Midwifery Advocate
  • Managerial/Leadership qualifications and/or experience
Requirements
  • Experience of working in both hospital and community settings
  • Evidence of contribution to developing midwifery practice or education and training.
  • Guideline and policy development Clinical audit
  • Formal teaching practice in the classroom
  • Experience of implementing change management projects
  • Management of people
