Key Responsibilities

  • Streamline payroll processing by administering payroll activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation, processing, and balancing.
  • Complete year-end processes accurately to ensure compliance with tax regulations and contribute to the financial integrity of the organization.
  • Review and prepare information for general ledger entries to enhance the reliability of financial reports associated with payroll.
  • Maintain accurate payments and deductions to sustain employee trust and satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper calculation of taxes and adherence to internal procedures to prevent costly penalties and ensure legal compliance.
  • Serve as a resource for payroll inquiries, establishing yourself as a knowledgeable expert and fostering internal and external relationships.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving payroll processes to drive efficiency and innovation within the organization.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of payroll documentation to ensure consistency and clarity in payroll procedures for current and future staff.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive payroll knowledge, including UK payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.
  • Technical skills, including proficiency in Excel, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP, as well as familiarity with Time Management, Payroll, and HR systems.
  • Effective communication skills to develop and deliver clear communications that resonate with different audiences.
  • Decision-making and process optimization skills to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience of using Time Management, Payroll, and HR systems.
