Automation Support Engineer

Müller Milk & Ingredients is seeking an experienced Automation Support Engineer to join our team in Droitwich. As a key member of our site team, you will be responsible for developing systems and people to improve site automation performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide reactive support for site automation issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to production.
  2. Own and deliver minor automation Capex projects, working closely with the Automation Development team to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  3. Collaborate with the Automation Development team to support project delivery of other site projects with automation elements, ensuring compliance with group electrical and automation standards.
  4. Maintain and monitor the use of automation and electrical system software, ensuring version control systems are up-to-date and compliant.
  5. Liaise with the Automation Development team to ensure site criticality is a key element of the group level, driving improvements in efficiency and operability.
  6. Evaluate performance data to inform automation OE activity, driving improvements in efficiency and operability within production.
  7. Own the site panel risk assessment register, conducting periodic health checks and implementing remedial actions as necessary.
  8. Provide specialist automation support to site improvement initiatives, utilizing specialist skills and systems access to validate and analyze site data.
  9. Encourage engineering-based OE projects, driving improvements in efficiency and operability.
  10. Support the site roadmaps for Quality / HS / EMS / Engineering / Autonomous maintenance, ensuring alignment with group standards.
  11. Support improvement activities and events within engineering-owned areas, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  1. Strong Allen Bradley PLC experience, with a proven track record of delivering automation projects.
  2. Strong electrical skills, with a solid understanding of electrical systems and automation principles.
  3. Ability to work independently on projects, with a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation.
  4. Experience in a similar Automation Engineer role, with a strong understanding of automation systems and electrical principles.
  5. FMCG industry experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of the industry's unique challenges and opportunities.
  6. IT literate, with a strong understanding of automation software and systems.
