Main Responsibilities and Duties

Apprenticeship Enrollment:
Ensure that apprentices are properly enrolled in the appropriate apprenticeship standards and HNC/BSc programs that align with their career aspirations.

Engagement and Assessment:
Engage with apprentices and their employers to discuss course content, objectives, assessment processes, and criteria at the initial engagement. Confirm that employers provide a conducive work environment for apprentices to achieve qualification standards.

Guidance and Feedback:


Offer clear instructions to apprentices regarding evidence submission, assess the quality and relevance of their work, and provide constructive feedback. This includes utilizing the Smart Assessor E-portfolio system.



Progress Monitoring:


Work in collaboration with HNC/BSc lecturers to track apprentices' progress, prepare reports, and conduct formal progress reviews with apprentices and employers every 10 to 12 weeks. Ensure that all developmental actions are documented and objectives are met in a timely manner.



Student Preparation:
Prepare apprentices for their final projects and endpoint assessments, coordinating with employers to plan project sign-offs.

Student Welfare:
Oversee the behavior, attendance, and welfare of apprentices, addressing any concerns promptly, including safeguarding issues.

Requirements:

Industry Experience:
Proven experience in senior construction roles such as construction management, civil engineering, or planning is essential.

Education Delivery/Assessment Experience:
Ideally, candidates will possess qualifications such as TAQA, A1, or D32 for assessing competency qualifications. However, significant experience in competency assessment without formal qualifications will also be taken into account.

Communication Skills:
Ability to deliver clear and accurate instructions to groups of students while maintaining a structured approach to monitoring progress.

Student Support:
Capability to monitor, guide, and support apprentices in both their academic and professional growth.
