Position Overview:
This role may include collaboration with the Obstetric team in consultant-led Antenatal clinics and the Day Assessment Unit. The position demands quick decision-making, independent practice, and the ability to provide medical oversight when necessary, alongside a comprehensive understanding of various antenatal issues and essential midwifery assessment capabilities in Triage.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive midwifery care to women/birthing individuals and infants during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal phases. Care will be administered in various environments, including hospitals, birth centers, and community settings, which may involve managing individual caseloads, clients, and/or ward areas. This multifaceted role requires the candidate to integrate and address all specified responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
- Awareness of contemporary evidence-based midwifery practices.
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring techniques.
- Understanding of effective management strategies for obstetric emergencies.
- Thorough knowledge of medication management protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging and interacting with patients and colleagues across various levels and professions, with the ability to adapt communication styles as necessary.
