About the Role

The Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a qualified Counsellor to join our Bereavement Support Service. As a Bereavement Counsellor, you will be working in a supportive team environment, providing specialist bereavement counselling to adults in Carmarthenshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and provide counselling support to service users in a mixed model approach, including face-to-face, telephone, and online sessions.
• Work autonomously as part of a team, alongside and in partnership with other Healthcare professionals and Services within clinical settings.
• Travel between sites in a timely manner to provide support to service users.

Requirements

• Registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
• Relevant Diploma in Counselling or equivalent.
• Evidence of relevant Grief practice.
• Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Related Counselling qualifications.
• Working towards accreditation.
• Evidence of broad spectrum of relevant Counselling experience.
• Experience of prebereavement care and its delivery.
• Commitment to life-long learning.
• Evidence of personal support network.

Language Skills

• Welsh speaker (Level 1) is desirable.
