Job Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Welding and Coatings Inspector to join our Quality Department. The main objective is to guarantee the delivery of compliant products through proactive monitoring and enhancement initiatives with suppliers.

Ideal Candidate:
This role is suited for professionals with extensive expertise in technical disciplines such as mechanics, welding, materials science, and quality control. The ability to juggle multiple projects is essential. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and relevant experience in the nuclear or oil & gas sectors to excel in this fast-paced environment. Required certifications include CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2 in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI), along with a Painting/Coatings certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of raw materials both on-site and at supplier facilities.
  • Perform inspections related to welding, NDT, and Painting/Coatings as necessary.
  • Generate and review essential documentation, procedures, and release certificates.
  • Evaluate Life-Time Quality Records (LTQRs).
  • Ensure adherence to controlling documents throughout all manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

  • CSWIP 3.1 certification.
  • PCN Level 2 in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI).
  • Certification in Painting & Coating, such as BGAS, CIP, ICORR, NACE, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Nuclear or Ministry of Defence (MOD) sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Life-Time Quality Records (LTQRs).

Compensation: Competitive salary range of approximately £50k - £70k (negotiable) plus benefits and expenses.
Contract Type: Permanent
Benefits Include: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a combined pension contribution of 8% or more, sick pay, 4 times death in service coverage, travel expenses, and opportunities for professional development.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays.
