Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animation Supervisor to join our team at Industrial Light & Magic. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for overseeing the animation process, collaborating with directors and animators, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with directors and animators to maintain and represent their vision throughout the animation process.
  • Quality Control: Conduct reviews as final quality control on all animated elements prior to client review.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a good technical understanding of areas of CG relating to character build and movement – modeling, rigging, creature TD, and FX.
  • Team Management: Proactively provide leadership and foster communication within the animation department, working with management and other teams to meet show and department needs.
  • Recruitment and Development: Work closely with the animation talent team to ensure the professional development of all animators, conducting performance reviews, identifying training and mentoring needs.
Requirements
  • Experience: Significant proven experience in Feature Animation Projects at a supervisory level and proven ability to deliver complex shots to the highest level of quality.
  • Leadership: Prior experience supervising or leading a team of animators.
  • Communication: Excellent animation skills and a deep understanding of animation principles, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to animate shots and uphold the highest quality standards, with a familiarity with industry-standard animation software and adaptability to new ideas and approaches.
  • Passion: An unbounded passion for animation and animated filmmaking.
Work Arrangement

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
